EQ Europe was founded by Margareta Sjölund, PhD and together with our sister company Kandidata Asia in Singapore founded in 2000, we are a world leader in Emotional Intelligence (EQ). In 2022, we recruited CEO Jenny Westergård to take our customers and projects in Sweden and Europe to the next level.
We have worked with customers from Europe, Asia, USA and Africa and a wide variety of industries within public and private domains.
Margareta Sjölund
Founder of EQ Europe and Kandidata Asia. Margareta is an international expert and pioneer in Emotional Intelligence and has worked with customers and organizations in Europe, Asia and USA. Margareta has a PhD in Psychology from the University of Illinois, Chicago.
Jenny WestergĂĄrd
Jenny has worked in the finance industry for 20 years in different leading positions. Jenny combines a solid business background from large companies and has a degree in Economics and Psychology from Lund University, Sweden.
Anders Gusting
Anders has more than 25 years of experience in Senior Managerial Roles with several leading markets in Sweden and internationally. His insights in EQ derive from various industries and positions within sales, R&D, production and SCM/IT. Anders has two Master’s degrees, in Industrial Engineering & Management and Business Administration, carried out in Sweden, Germany and Indochina.
Birgitta Söderström
Birgitta has worked with development of leaders in Asia and Europe for 20 years. Birgitta is an ICF certified coach and has an MA in International Studies, University of New England, Australia, MSc in Mental Health Counseling, University of Massachusetts Boston and a BSc in Communication Studies, New York University.

Maria Amerstofer
Maria has been working as a coach, trainer and facilitator in Singapore since 1997. Maria is an ICF certified coach and holds masters in Human Resource Management. Maria has more than a decade of experience measuring and developing EQ as well as conducting EQ-i certification.
Lisa Hope Tilstra
Lisa has been working in the field of Emotional Intelligence (EQ) since 2012 and is a master international trainer of our tools. Lisa has conducted training in more than 30 countries and is now located in Sri Lanka.
Lisbeth Hedberg
Lisbeth is a specialist who works with Swedish and international companies and organizations. Lisbeth has developied people, teams and leaders for 20 years. Lisbeth has a BSc in Business Administration and a degree in Communication (IHR) and Organizational Psychology. Certified in assessment tools and coaching methods.
About Lauri Ericson
Lauri holds an MA in International Development Education from New York University and is a graduate of Seth Godin’s altMBA. Her leadership framework is from experts such as Margaret Wheatley (Harvard), Richard Boyatzis (Case Western Reserve), and Heidi Brooks (Yale University). Lauri served on the Advisory Committee for the Women and Girls Africa Summit. She was an advisor for Urban Challenges: Making Public Transportation Safe for All, a multi-country project sponsored by the Swedish Institute.
Having worked with women and girls on 6 continents, Lauri founded “A Women’s Manifesto to the World'', whose vision is that every female is raised to speak up, stand up and rise up.
